OUR STORY
A place to feel at home.
Creeks Cuppa began with John Creek’s idea for an independent café where people could feel at home. On Fore Street in Exeter, it is a place to pause, catch up and spend time together.
Our rubber ducks give the café its own character. Whether you are coming with friends, bringing the family or looking for a tabletop group, a warm welcome is at the heart of what we do.
THE STORY BEHIND OUR DUCKS
One duck for Greg. A whole flock from you.
Our ducks began with a friendship.
My best friend Greg had a rubber duck he kept close—sometimes in his car, sometimes beside his bed. After losing Greg following struggles with his mental health, I spotted a duck just like his at a raffle. I didn’t win it, so I found the person who did and swapped all my prizes for that one duck.
I put it on a shelf at Creeks Cuppa to remember him.
Then our regulars started saying, “He looks a bit lonely, so I brought you another.” One duck became two, then more—and they kept coming.
That’s how we became the duck café. It started with a way to remember Greg, and grew through the kindness of the people who walk through our door.
In loving memory of Greg, and all those we’ve lost to mental health struggles. Remembered with love, one duck at a time.
